Navigating the Site

There are 3 main levels of navigation:

• Site Level Navigation - this allows you to access the main index pages of this site and is present on virtually all pages.
  This is the Main [blue] nav bar on the image below (appears at top and bottom of page)
• Sub-area navigation - there are many areas within the site which form their own sub-sections.
  This is the Sub [yellow] nav bar on the image below (appears at the top of the page under the main nav bar)
• Document level navigation - most documents on the site form more than one page. In these instances there are 'previous page, 'document contents' and 'next page' buttons.
  This is the Doc [yellow] nav bar on the image below (appears at the bottom of the page above the main nav bar)

Links to other pages within the site site look like this:

- whilst links to external sites look like this:

• example of external link

This allows you to identify if you have requested a link that will take you outside our site. When selecting an external link you will also be presented with a message alerting you to the fact that you are leaving the site and that the link will open in a new window.

Additional Software

We make every attempt to make all the pages on this site as openly available as possible and for this reason the vast majority of the information is delivered in normal HTML web pages. However, from time to time we wish to deliver information that is just too complex to be delivered that way. When this happens we look at alterantive formats and offer links to the freely available software from reputable suppliers.
